Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Things are looking great in Schenectady NY

With LC making big positive changes across the GE land. Schenectady has so much work they have to use the flex agreement and move people around. The unions CA agreement has kept us from loosing employment. We have so much work and not enough people to do the work. So the company utilize the flex agreement. The CA agreement only saved jobs for a year and the company will get those pennies they gave for the agreement back. How? By laying off a couple more T Rates when in happens. And it is going to happen very soon.

Going week by week to see if you'll have a job and always wondering if next week is going to be the week when you'll find out if you're getting laid off for who knows how long, is no way to live. Nothing is worth the stress to always be fearful of actually living. Even if you don't get laid off, you'll still feel the negative effects. Those lucky enough to retire in time, won't be replaced and their vacancy will just be divided up among those who are left. It'll just keep happening little by little without anybody really noticing. It's only a matter of time before they start confiscating our shoelaces to keep us from hanging ourselves as a means to escape.

No layoffs this week but next week is another week. With all these talks and rumors of layoffs going around the plant. Everyone knows it’s coming again the big layoff

Ex–GE myself,
I DO believe GE is a great employer and things will be brighter in the next years. It will be not a quick turnaround, neither it would be easy. I think the biz will be much smaller, but more efficient. I also expect GE to continue spinning off some of the business.
Smaller biz size doesn't mean worse, just a different model. Siemens followed this approach already. "Everything changes, nothing perishes".

I left GE without saying bye to the amazing team, and I regret it. I am going to keep my RSUs as a sign of appreciation :) I feel confident in GE's future. Just look at FieldCore folks, OPEX or lean leaders, GE has a rock team. Stay with GE (unless Digital ;)) !

PS The only reason I left GE is to build my own business.

I came back for a bigger ego and to boost my false sence of making it in this corporate fake world. And I was making $12 hr before GE lately I wish I was making $12 hr smoking the bud and not dealing with this 4 ring circus. I’m ready for my pink slip

I don't know every T rate but the ones that I know who were laidoff a few years ago all said no when they had the callback that was maybe almost two years. They all pretty much gave me the same reason why. To much uncertainty at GE that they don't have to deal with at their new job. The difference in pay wasn't a big deal and neither were the benefits. Little to no reason to go back to the @#%& show.

How many T’s return if there is a call back? All the ones who say they won’t! Fake union brother ship! Fake people!
