Was it Huewei?
"Chinese government does not have to steal anything."
Not true! They do steal everything. Motorola had an office developing software in China. That product was reverse engineered in China and sold by competitor. Not saying the team gave it away. Heard it was downloaded by a competitor in a customer lab.
Developers in the US have said for years that our labs are hacked by China.
Not everyone in China works for the government. But I understand you are probably thinking of Huewei. And I get where you are coming from.
However, Chinese government does not have to steal anything. Technology is freely taught in the universities. The Chinese government only has to create companies that hire employees who learned from other companies and from universities.
This creates a global economy. The problem is not the sharing of information. The problem is that people can come here for work. But people here going to other countries would be taking jobs away from others. It's a one way street that foreign governments are creating.
Our culture is supporting this currently because the majority of us have employment.
They (Commscope) are not expanding outsourcing in China. They already had a team from the Arris Cable TV group.
But they have been laying off higher paid us older workers and ramping up hiring young software engineers in India.
"You're either hiding under a rock or this is a joke right?
Arris software outsourced to China
Ruckus software outsourced to India"
Plenty in India are as worried as anyone in the US.
China steals everything, and everyone in China works for the Chinese government. So, yeah, that should work out well if everything is outsourced.
Nope...there is a list. At least 600 jobs on the list with ages next to job titles. Half or so selected this round. If your young you probably dont have to worry...very few below 50 on it. Hmmmm......
Agreed, they are far from done. If you are in a high demand skilled career, wonderful. Stick it out and collect the severance. If not, start looking and hopefully timing will be on your side.
Redundancy to go.
They are still losing money so they’re going to make more adjustments in the rest of the year.
Bottom line.
Everyone is going to be outsourced. If they have not already been outsourced. Most of the employees are already gone or have been notified by their managers as to their last day.
Once they outsource then building shutdowns will follow in efforts to stop the financial loss. CLevel outlined this is the only way to become profitable.
Of course there will be bonuses for whoever is left. A few developers and project managers and HR and payroll. But most of that will be moved to HQ by the end of the year.
You're either hiding under a rock or this is a joke right?
- Arris software outsourced to China
- Ruckus software outsourced to India
Unless you're a CSuite or in finance or something. What's left?
Maybe it’s done for Q2. 100s of people are in the hit list to get kicked out in July, while C–Suite get millions in bonus.
I can't help it, I'm a worrier.
