People want to buy what’s affordable now..they don’t care about name brands. That’s why Target and H&M are doing so well. So Macy’s investing more in lower priced private brands is a good move.
This is an old 2021 article and Kohl’s carries Men’s casual Tommy Hilfiger..but not the women’s wear collection like Macy’s.
I worak at Macy's and I'm a very conservative Christian and I totally disagree with the ungodly agenda the company has. I want to see them abandon the ridiculous agenda and just sell merchandise.
So is Kohl’s woke now.
I work at a distribution plant in WV and they just furloughed 100 people.
It's easier to spend time talking about social issues than addressing the fact that Macy's pays it's people as little as possible. If the senior executive team and Board of Directors really cared about employees, the first thing they would do would be to increase the minimum in–hire rate like other retails have done. Amazon, Target, Khols, and other national retailers have raised wages to rates where their full time employees can almost support themselves without having to work two or three jobs, why not Macy's?
Perhaps you can bring up your concerns about vendors like Hilfiger, Nike, Free People, Polo, and huge assortment gaps like exiting most of our soft home assortment on the next Week of Understanding daily one hour conference call. Customers are thrilled to get even more INC, Style &CO, Charter Club, and other Macy's in–house brands. That is exactly why they are coming to a department store, who needs high quality brands when you can get little know private label brands for almost the same price.
Vendors leaving only to be replaced by junk. Macy’s will go under
