Layoff didn’t hit me so hard since I was ready for my turn to come to be laid off. What bothered me more as a long–term worker in this company was that the dismissal was so cold–blooded, just as if I had worked in this company for only a few days or as if former employees were not human beings. Maybe Enbridge could at least, if nothing else, try to deliver the layoffs in a slightly different way, so as not to remain just an ugly memory of former loyal employees?

Enbridge has no compassion for any long time service or no value to current employees.
Just an employee # and a cost you are to create income.
Never forget that it’s not personal It’s just business
How would you slightly change the procedure?
You are just a number remember that.. Hopefully you are white so will be hired in a few days
As someone who was laid off after being employed for many years, I took it personally at first. It's hard not to. I've determined that there is no easy way to do it, as long as it's done quickly.
I got the feeling I was going to be laid off for a couple weeks before it happened, and even when it did, it still caught me off guard.
Bottom line, try to not take it personally and move on as quickly as possible.
