Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Sometimes I wonder if they experience it too

My store manager is a total control freak, in a very negative sense. She does not control employees to prevent something bad from happening, but just the opposite.

I have a feeling that her goal is to constantly look for mistakes in order to devalue employees and make them feel very bad, it's almost like a domination game. I don't understand why any person would behave like that, unless she's just conveying frustrations coming from a higher level?

There is some truth to what you say and I can see where the first person to respond is coming from. At my store, the store manager is a control freak, micromanager to the bone. She is not there to get rid of people who have been there too long, because if she did, we would have no people left to work. We are so short staffed, yet somehow are beating expectations, so if she was to get rid of people on purpose, she would be digging her own grave. That's not to say that she is not running good working people away, morale is low and her managing style will eventually push people to say they have had enough and walk away.

your looking at it all wrong..... she's being told by cooperate in secret emails and meetings to get rid of anyone that been there for a long time and making too much money so they can hire lesser paying employees to do the same job.. she's just the executioner
