Layoffs have just ended a few weeks ago and I'm already seeing job openings for the same positions that were cut. This makes me so mad - it was never about saving costs on laying off bad performers. Instead, it was all about getting rid of the best people who earn the most so they can replace them with cheaper options. Truly shameful.

Everyone needs to be mindful that there are race baiting trolls like yourself waiting to turn simple statements of fact, like the location of replacement engineering resources, into an accusation of racism rather than economics. Review the record. There was no mention of anything even remotely negative about the people in India. The focus is on replacing experienced engineers with less expensive, less experienced engineers.

To be fair, there's an awful lot of dead wood in the senior engineering people. Not much hunger there, and a lot of people telling you how amazing they were 20 years ago. Maybe the clear out is actually a good thing. Also – this strand about how bad it is to send work to India – looks a tiny bit racist, guys. Probably want to wind your necks in a bit.
CFO and CIO are clueless. They don’t understand the business. To them, an engineer in India with 2 years experience is just as good as someone from the UK, US or IL with 20 years experience. Development managers are too worried about their own jobs so they say nothing and just go along with it. Incompetence and cowardice are deadly companions.
The real joke is who the h––l would accept a job here ?
