Since 2019 we have been waiting on a new contract. The company gave a 90 day notice clause we should have strike then but we let is go and missed out on getting our raise for nearly 2 yrs! Let’s see if we can get this done.

No strike or lock out. Contract extension for 1 week.
Call the men down at Lumen (sprint, century link, lumen and maybe 2 more names after no-go's with CWA/COMPANY negotiations
3 name changes several bankruptcies
consolidation of depts
co-op work centers (contractors last about 6mo out of the year and once BAUs drop contracting force downsizes per contract)
Do you see the pattern?
Ask yourself this with a very small footprint in FL at what point do you think you can keep holding on to what your being told.
Fact is accept the change and if not watch what the company will replace.
Fact— whoever wants to work will work and whoever doesnt will be replaced
Cant demand when company is restructuring.
Junior guys will stay
seniors will be pushed
consolidation to diff depts as you will have a option
and some services will be pulled for contractors.
Bottom line contractors will do most of the grunt work and company techs will not.
thats the biz of contracting
dont see layoffs unless certain senior techs wont take the money and run
or if the UNION grandstands then your in for a bumpy ride
Dont take WV as a example as they are regulated by the PSC. They are not a RIGHT TO WORK FOR LESS STATE. ANYTHING SOUTH OF VIRGNIA has no protections in place for labor rights. FL will arbitrate your case at no cost through a state mediator but make sure you make a call to the labor board to make sure the mediator is not BIAS for the company
Did the strike happen?
Depends on the give and take from each side! Company is trying to take more than ever before!
