I am neither for it nor against it, I do not want to encourage or sabotage because my priority is only to leave this company as soon as possible, but I am afraid that a possible strike will not bring any special improvements. I wonder if you think that there will be an improvement and will it outweigh the possible negative consequences?

Sorry to say, but there won't be a strike. The President won't allow it at the end of the day.
Strike! Strike! Strike!
See you guys at the strike! Thanks for the support from management!
RE: Expectations
I expect that no strike will take place. The reasons why are mundane; railroad unions have no real power, the workers themselves don’t want to strike, and most consumer goods are moved by truck. The only people who would notice that railroad workers were on strike would be railroad executives. After a few days of disruption they would call in non-union contractors to do the jobs of the striking workers and operations would mostly return to normal.
If the dispatchers all decided to stop coming to work, that could make some noise, but that’s even less likely to happen. I would also expect the UP legal team to walk down the road from UPC to the Omaha District and file a lawsuit as soon as it started happening.
There’s not going to be a strike. One service unit isn’t going to strike on their own. Even if the whole company went on strike, the government would put us back to work within a couple of days. The truth is unions have steadily lost power over the past several decades. Part of this is political and part is the union leadership cozying up to the companies of the workers they represent. I am not sure what good a strike would do anyway. What is the basis for the strike? Simply bring upset about layoffs isn’t a legitimate reason for striking. There are many things the company does that I don’t like, for example, not paying claims, but this does not rise to the threshold of a systemwide strike. The best thing for everyone that feels they no longer want to be here is to find another job. I just put my resume on a couple of sites and have gotten a couple of inquiries in the past couple of days. If I find something that pays close to what I make now I will leave. Good luck no matter what you choose.
Quit asking ridiculous shiiiit! If you want to leave, leave! But don’t expect any other service unit or region to Strike with you north platte guys! Yes we are all doing are fair share of work but I also get my a-s time to! If you think it’s greener on the other side go, nobody is stoping you! Maybe you can hook up with the OP and both go!
There won’t be a strike so you have no worries.
