Kmart & Sears had many chances to attract customers with products and services the other big box retailers would not do. What opportunities do you think Sears and Kmart missed opportunities with?
I think when the KCafe closed down, Kmart should have turned that space into a tattoo parlor. Also Kmart should have got into the vape business as well.
Kmart should have also got into the Medical Cannibis industry as well. It would be a perfect fit. With Wal-Mart's "wholesome" family store, Target with their fancy for cheap stores, Kmart could be that gritty, edgy store that everyone would shop at. Perhaps Kmart could also partner with Hot Topic and sell all the cool k-d items without having to goto the malls.

In the 80s, the Sears I worked at had a video arcade. Most of the patrons were store employees (loved me some Missile Command back in the day). Then they tried a small convenience store for about 15 minutes. So vaping or a massage service would just be part of the long history of throwing things at a wall to see if they stick.

Sears should have had a massage service they offered to customers. Kmart should of also sold used cars as well.
