Does anyone have the rough answer on this layoff coming? I want a rough idea on how deep the layoff is going to be? 100 union members? 150 gone in 2 waves? 2 waves of 125 each? I’m hearing all of these numbers.

It's never too late to start being worth the money they're paying you. If you had started back in 2018, this thread might never have been posted. It's about time you started building a better 2024.
More time working, less time stirring the s–t p-t and talking out the a-s, there wouldn’t be a reason to send work elsewhere. The BA going around telling people they need to work more, feet up less, that should tell people something. The problem is no one wants to hear it. Old bad work habits are unchangeable at GE Schenectady.
Anybody talking about it, doesn't know any details about it and anybody who knows the details about it, aren't talking. If you look at the layoffs from the past, nobody knew where the bottom was until they finally hit it. Just have a plan of what to do next if it's you. This trying to find out the details/numbers of what will happen is just an attempt to find a reason to not make an emergency plan and to feel like you have some sort of knowledge based power. You're just creating your own smoke and mirrors to fool yourself.
You’re hearing all these numbers from people that don’t know anymore than you or I. When it happens, it happens. There is NOTHING you can do about it. Worrying just makes you miserable. Don’t give them the satisfaction!!!
With the political leaders we have they lean towards green energy. Take that with the current market status for the stuff that is produce in Schenectady. Well you get the picture.
It will basically become a service shop because the market and demand for new generators and product are way down. It’s down 60%-70%. Buckets will be made elsewhere so all the members from buckets are bumping. That will just be a small portion it’s going to be worse than 2017 and 2018. That is what I’ve been hearing but we won’t know until the day it happens.
