Agreed, it always business. That is why I learned a long time ago, you have to treat yourself as a business and do what is best for you and your family. Don’t make it emotional. If you were treated as a person that mattered, it would be different.

It's a script, nothing more. People doing the layoff are given a script and are not allowed to deviate for fear of lawsuits.

Everyone's working 24/7 now - more work and less home life working remote, where the work/life separation is more blurred than ever. Just stop! It will never change and you will always regret the time lost.

The narrative is always the same, oh we are so proud of those who have worked so hard to make this company successful and thank those who have had the "opportunity" to move on for their contribution...blah blah blah

When will employees ever learn that they are a commodity, not people? Corp's use HR "employee engagement" strategies to create a false sense that you matter.

If/when you get laid off, believe me it will not be "personal". It's always business. Corps expect us to give our all, for our labor to mean something. And it might - for a time. But when the time comes, you will be out. You will grieve for all that you did, all that you tried to build, the time and effort you gave. The corp will not grieve your absence.

Corporations "caring" about employees is an illusion to get the most from the employees as possible for as long as possible.

Stop believing the corp BS.
