Thread regarding Allscripts layoffs

How many people intend to leave soon?

Whomever I talk to, everyone intends to leave. Colleagues I met when I first started working here left this company long time ago. As it seems to me now, this will soon be a company with completely new people because almost everyone who is here now is looking for new jobs. Maybe a better question is who intends to stay... I started looking for a job more actively, primarily because the atmosphere no longer suits me and I hope that I will soon be able to forget about this company.

The day after I made a post here I refreshed my resume and began a serious search for an alternative.

It took me 21 days to sign an offer at a 37% increase in wages. Not only that but the new job is hiring, we are projecting true growth (not the BS spin Allscripts delivers while clients anxiously wait for contracts to expire).

All I can say is… I should have left sooner.

Also, gratz to executives unloading millions worth of shares. That’s what Allscripts true mission is. Thanks for the personal growth and good riddance to the days of wondering ‘whose being shown out next’.

I have another job lined up so I’ll be leaving quite soon.

Everyone is clamming up and not talking as its been made clear that probing questions are not welcome. LKs latest townhall basically told people to leave! HR has bailed....pet person LH leap frogged all her seniors for the job...yeah....that shows how they promote from within! Wow.
The only bright side is JM now owns Sunrise so perhaps they'll finally attempt a real international plan (but get rid of LK,AF &PB first). But their hands are so tied with prior id--tic contractual commits by LK and PM....good luck.

Yea. I’ve been holding out thinking positive thoughts about fixing the challenges we have, taking pride in my work and finding things to improve but here’s the reality.

Few folks around me seem to have the drive or talent to make impactful positive changes. There’re some, but too few with too limited support to really turn things around. Not to mention any backfilling will be entry level folks... my effort isn’t worth it to continue producing executive bonuses for all the ‘strategy people’. I’m too competent in my role to be considered for any job advancement. There’re too many managers who take my work and politic themselves for their personal gain.

Job markets hot. I want more money and I can get it. As of today I’ll not be so discriminating in my search. Honestly Allscripts’d have to double my salary to stay and guarantee it for a few months to even consider staying. I tried! Sorry all you docs locked into long contracts you can’t wait to get out of!

I was downsized earlier this year. I have a data analyst job with a non software company and have been appreciating the fact I work hands on with projects and report directly to the stakeholders. Working at Allscripts was a miserable experience and I can say I miss it one iota. It was in fact one of the better things to happen to me. I found a new job in sixty days and honestly didn't even start looking for work until the day of my actual layoff.

Job market is super hot now. Just spoke with the Indian outsource coordinator. He said the demands are so high and he cannot even find people to fill in these positions. I need about 30 offshore developers for our new project. So far, after one month of recruiting, Ionly get 3. Finding onshore resources is even harder. Just finished a meeting with a consulting company. They will provide us 5 resources, as a favor because of some personal connections :(

Send out your resume before the wave pass.

I wanted this job to be my last job before I retire. The thought of looking for a new one is daunting. There is a good chance that if I don't get out soon, I will be fired for not meeting the new production requirements. I've been at this job for going on 8 years (3 with Allscripts). We were never put on a stringent production requirement in the past. I want to ask upper management if they can reach it themselves. I bet they couldn't. They have placed quantity over quality. In addition, they are outsourcing our jobs to India! My job right now is basically correcting the off-shore people's work. I would rather do it all myself! I am so sick of working here!

In last three months Sunrise has had Product Management VP, Support Director, and Development Director resign. Two for sure did not resign for another job (taking a sabbatical) and believe the 3rd is doing the same thing. Hey, if you are frustrated and can take a break – go for it!

The grass is truly greener on the other side of Allscripts. Leadership is running this place into the ground!

When I left I was able to get 62% more in salary and the work environment is much more forgiving. If I had a mistake in a report he’ll would rein down on me. At the new company I work at the leadership is much more chill and understanding. Seeing as reporting was all I did a mistake may happen occasionally. I feel more comfortable and also like I’m in a “learning” environment. Something I never really felt at allscripts.

I do not know of anyone who has left that isn’t doing tremendously better financially and mentally. This is all anyone needs to know as to “why are so many people leaving”

This has to be a question posted by Allscript HR. Completely detached on properly engaging employees. Agree with anyone with 1/2 brain is actively looking to jump... The remainder will be less than 1/2 brain. You can't argue that..since that group is "leadership" and won't be able to find an equivalent position in another company.. I too stayed 10 years too long. But family and I so much better now..

Left about 2 months ago and never feel this happy during my 10 years with Allscripts. I really should jump boat earlier.

Everyone wants to leave that has 1/2 a brain. With things picking up in the job market, you will start to see more people leave.
