Work from home

To those who think working from home eliminates being micromanaged, guess again. Try googling project management with remote workers. There is a whole industry cranking up to micromanage your time and tasks in a remote setting. Maybe you are already managed like this. One thing for sure. If they micromanaged you from the office they will do it to you while working from home. So what have you really accomplished. You have unintentionally made your life less diverse and really a lot more boring and taken on a different form of stress. It seems the hybrid model solves the diversity issue but not the micromanaging. Good luck to all.

Is Oxy still giving people the 9/80. What surveillance do they have in place to make sure you are working 9 hours a day. It doesn’t matter how much work you put in at night or weekends. Many people before covid were at the office for 9 hours a day and then had to put in a few hours here and there on nights and weekends without extra compensation. Even international trips that involved weekends away from home were not compensated. So you people need to just get back to work and quit your complaining. Tired of it.

I feel for all of you people who moved on company plans. Hopefully you didn’t get screwed too badly on selling and buying. It is expensive to buy and sell real estate. Too bad you can’t recover the costs from the company.

"Oxy reneging on the move to Dairy Ashford" Typical from Oxy. We are moving... maybe not.... We are moving by next year... We stopped renovations... We may not move.... We found better options, we are not moving! In the meantime several employees and their families trusted Oxy and moved closer to the planned new office...

What wrong. Getting a little nervous going back to work. Got butterflies in your stomach like first day on the job about 25 years ago.

Is this the same person posting all of this anti wfh stuff. Guy needs to get a life. Most people in my group have done a great job working from home and I hope there is at least a hybrid work model going forward.

Project managers don’t need to google how to manage their workers.

Speaking of the Dairy Ashford move. Oxy should buy a small piece of land in the city as a park for all to enjoy. Plant it with a bunch of trees and other green spaces and call it Century Park. It can be dedicated to the people of the earth.

Working from home has meant no Commute From Hell. This is marginally adequate compensation for Oxy reneging on the move to Dairy Ashford.
