Good luck all. I hope it's true what they say about being safe if you don't have a meeting scheduled, but I still can't be sure.

2 years ago I did not get a meeting invite. Just an hr person popping his head up at my desk asking me to follow him into a conference room for a phone call. Talk about a bandaid being ripped off.... Now I hear the people responsible for that horrible day are gone!
When I was laid off, it was managers manager that scheduled it and did the deed. My manager was just as shocked as I was.
Classy touch leaving HR off the invite.
I talked to someone laid off, the HR person was added to meeting last minute. any surprise meeting invite is most likely not good.

A meeting not necessarily. A meeting with a manager AND HR. Almost certainly no good.
