Thread regarding BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. layoffs

How many are there?

After the latest asinine restructure I had to do some soul searching. Do I really want to work for a company that treats their employees so horribly? Can I afford it financially to quit with nothing to fall back on? The answer to both questions was a resounding NO. I don’t know if others are in the same situation as me - wanting to get out after being treated like yesterday’s garbage for so long yet being unable to leave at the drop of a hat. I’ve been saving for a few months now and just started looking at other job opportunities.

I have 2 other jobs so if I do decide to quit I have something to fall back on. I’m just waiting for the day that I can’t take working at BJs anymore.

Walmart is doing new scheduling. They are offering people a schedule that is outside their availability and if they do not take what is offered you will be put down to part time and lose health benefits. Been with the company almost 10 years. These companies could care less about us. I’m on the job hunt. Good luck to all.

Feel the same way. I have given 17 years that now feel so unappreciated! The saddest part is I actually like my job and loved the team I was apart of. They just ripped it all away.

Isn't it shocking that the CEO Lee Delaney passed away....how sad.

Just know there are soooo many places hiring right now! I have so many places already reaching out to me since my last day on Saturday. I've already had a few interviews. Make a Linkedin account if you don't have one already and update your resume. BJ's is not a good company to work for anymore, they do not care about loyalty or their employees. I know so many GMs that are looking for new jobs right now as well and some who have quit because of how bad it's treating employees. There are issues everywhere in retail but BJ's is on another level!

Keep looking! There is plenty of opportunity out there. I am temporarily staying until I can get something better where I more appreciated.
