Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I just stopped caring

I used to worry about my job but after the last round of layoffs I’m totally over it and this company. I’m tired of wondering when my time will come. I along with many others have put in more hours and more days working early and staying late. We sacrifice our weekends and holidays and in the end I witnessed those same colleagues get axed. At this point I’m mentally exhausted and quite frankly if I am chosen in the next round it would be a vacation for me.

When employees are laid off and then are hired back through the "good'ol boy" system you know every day is a cluster f..k! I'm NOT going to keep them afloat by doing their job! They are definitely NOT leadership material AT ALL.

they will turn on you on a dime. no loyality at all. no respect. they said we're family and teammates. they said to walk in the village, chant, and be proud. then look what happened

Creative indifference. Do not care. And they do not care that they do not care. Smile, do bare minimum, smile, and collect check. rinse, lather, repeat.....and then bail

I agree. Time to work on a side job and only do what I'm asked and no more!

WHY are employer fees for 401ks being passed to employees? The company didn't make enough billions each quarter in profit??!!

"Record keeping fees"....for a multi BILLION dollar publically trader, share holder owned corporation and they pass on those FEES to the employees.

I’ve been feeling this way for the past year and a majority of my coworkers are feeling this way too. They’ve set impossible metrics for us and on paper we all look like bad employees. Supervisors refuse to help now too, They just keep asking you why you can’t keep up with the impossible metrics and refuse to offer help-probably because they can’t admit how impossible the job is now but hey.

Entering my 8th month of job searching; I’m bound to find something eventually...I hope.

It will get to the point where you clearly recognize that its time to empower yourself. Family and friends who support your decision are more valuable than spending 40 hours a week in a toxic situation. New horizons are out there. Stay strong.

100000% agreement so sick of being a corporate slave with a bunch of blue pilled slaves. Done with being a share holders tool

For everyone sitting there and hoping to be in the next layoff, I hope you are working on your network and a new opportunity yesterday, today, and tomorrow! I am not trying to take a shot at anyone, but without a pandemic the market can be tough.

Getting out of Optum will be the one of the greatest moments of your professional career. It used to be a good place, but it is a real life horror show now. I hoped to get laid off, but I was fortunate to have left on my own. Giving my 2 weeks notice was so AWESOME! Still brings a smile to my face.

So true! It’s actually a form of emotional abuse! I cannot wait to be laid off or leave if the new job comes first!
