With a handful of stores left which would be the brand to get behind and go forward with investing in if they were to try to save the company?

Sears and it not even close.
Still has hundreds of Hometown stores
A&E still has a lot of value
Sears Home Services is still profitable
Kenmore still has some value
You're kidding right? Both brands are dead.
IF one of them has any chance at all I'd bet on that being Kmart. That being said... if I had a wad of dough I was going to invest into retail, it would more likely be going to Amazon.
