Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

The HR in the Know Employee

Do you have one of those on your staff? The employee who always seems to have the scoop on layoffs or co-workers going on plan? A few days later, this person’s destructive gossip becomes reality. How does this happen at a company so focused on so many crucial social issues they forget the basics of good business practices with ALL their staff? Get with it. SD, ask HR who has loose lips on your staff or take on Regional leaders who gossip before info should be shared.

"focused on so many crucial social issues".... not business strategy, getting the company back to profitability and growth but this person is concerned about [manufactured for profit] social issues. About sums up the core of Staples lack of success during a pandemic where the company should have thrived.

Last year SD suggested we read a book about our whiteness. I suggest SD read "Red, White, and Black" by Bob Woodson. After that, then maybe we can have an "open and honest discussion ". Better yet, leave politics and social grievances of the few at the door and let's focus on Staples' success.
