Just heard from a very credible source that about 1500-2000 people will be cut every year (excluding divestments) for the next 4 years, and that after that Shell should be a little bit more stable, very rough times ahead.

All the business news states the forced reductions will be through the end of 2022. Could that mean another round early next year for offers and exits? Honestly, it’s hard to work with the axe positioned above your head all the time, but I’m sure many on this forum have gotten use to it by now. Although I’m not ready to go I’m tired of all the BS and drama surrounding this company. At one time this was a great company to work for, but now The thrill is gone. Maybe I’ll go drive for Amazon. Less $$ but a lot less stress.
Not surprising Shell is doing this. Everyone’s always been more focused on kissing a-s then actually doing work. The financials says it all.

Yea…this is great news. Are they going to get rid of the Shell Answer Man 👨
What’s the source you supposedly got this from?
Been happening in Canada since the dutch took over in 2007. It used to be a dream to get the golden handshake at retirement but re orgs and layoffs being an annual thing it has become an expectation and the big payout is part of retirement planing.
Such poor management.
Your officers are stuffing their pockets on the way out and dumping the company’s assets. It’s way beyond over.
It will never be stable. The company is going full woke =broke.
I would imagine layoffs every 2 years in perpetuity, given the rigid labor laws in NL.
In Canada we have been reducing staff since 2013. What's another 4 more years? ;)
This is news why? It has been like this for a long time.
