Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Was anybody actually hired?

After I was laid off I tried to apply for other open positions that were available, as I was told I was free to do. Every single time I was completely ignored. No response, no interview, nothing. This makes me wonder if we really are welcome to apply or is it just empty words and we are immediately blacklisted by the company?

Many of the agile coaches laid off last year got rehired in different roles. We had to scramble to find any job available; like musical chairs. Some are not happy where they landed and are looking to leave TR as soon as they can.

Empty words for me but I know people did get re hired. They were the ones laid off at the same time as everyone so they wouldn’t get sued. As soon as they were rehired, they started bootlicking again. As though a lay off during the holidays could never happen to them. It was pretty awful going in after the lay off. I can’t imagine how they continued working knowing the axe can come at any time.

All empty words. Why would you RIF people and then take them back? There are a lot of really good companies out there who really appreciate their employees.

I've blacklisted Thomson Reuters as a company I never want to work at again

Once TR is done with you, they are done with you. And I am done with them (sorry HR Ladies who troll here).

They usually don't rehire their cast offs. No boomerangs.
