There are people who always think they won’t be the target and are very confident that they won’t be on the layoff list. Such is the story of my former colleague here. Taking his hard work into account, he was by no means supposed to be laid off, however, there is no logic when it comes to cuts. When the time comes, all the parameters become quite irrelevant and the company views you only as a number.

If your job is a desk job with no in-person interaction with people or equipment required, your job is in jeopardy. Any job that can be done remotely can be done from India.
Everyone is a target, even leadership. The only ones who are truly safe are the ones who are managing the relationship with the contracting company (HCL, Tech Mahindra, etc.)
People stopped being loyal to a company...when they stopped being loyal to them!
Love your job But Don't love your company, because you may not know when your company stops loving you.
It doesn’t matter how hard anyone works, American employees cannot compete with employees in third world countries.
Yep. Loyalty to company and work ethic means nothing when jobs need to be cut.
