Have we reached the point of profitability to where the remaining stores in the company are the go forward stores? When can we expect new stores to open? If none of this is true, then why are the remaining stores still open?

Matter of time. They’re all toast. Even Guam is toast when they carry all Corp costs.
The only reason Sears and Kmart exist today is because something must remain if the $1+ Billion NOLs can be transferred, and there’s a big “IF” it’s not looking so good. But rest assured transformco exists only to grab as much as it can from the ashes of SHC and for no other reason
"Go forward? LMAO They're at a dead end street honey."
LOL, makes me think of the parade scene in "Animal House" where the band is led into the alley and keeps playing and trying to march. Kind of an apt metaphor
What kind of mo--n types ears instead of Sears?
The go-Ahead Kmart stores are:
1) Westwood, NJ
2) Brooklyn, NY
3) Avenel, NJ
4) Chicago Ridge, AZ
As of today, there is only one liquidating store, Kmart in Costa Mesa. When was the last time we had only one liquidation in progress (or none at all)?
Please stop engaging the Chicago Ridge guy. His posts and questions aren’t genuine. They’re just meant to stir drama hoping to find people that think his questions are honest and genuine. Please stop feeding the troll.
- No
- Never
- Because they haven’t closed yet.
Go forward? LMAO They're at a dead end street honey.
Maybe Eddie Lampert should move headquarters to Guam
Guam is still profitable because its operations had nothing to do with Eddie or Leena. If you bring all the overhead carrying costs from all the fees and taxes and depreciation from all the empty properties, then yeah, even Guam is in the toilet. Eddie and Leena are still trying to do something with the online stuff, and then there's "Transform Home Improvements" that has decided the Sears and Kmart names are so tainted that it doesn't even mention either company on the website, and that's where everything is at. Transform/Sears/Kmart is the world's worst real estate company that no one wants to work with, and vendors have literally said they refuse to work with the brand so long as it's associated with Eddie "Epstein buddy" Lampert.
None of the remaining Sears or Kmart stores are "go forward" stores. They are all just waiting for the word that they are closing. And then, someday soon, there will be NONE.
No Sears or Kmart stores are profitable. Eddie is just taking his time and drawing out the process.
Pony-up some of your own cash to buy out the lease on one or more remaining stores so that it can close, or else stop crying about it.
*I meant Sears not ears, obviously.
I've been wondering the same. I mean, what exactly is the point of 20 Kmarts, for example? I totally get Guam, USVI, because of the monopoly they have. But why, the others? But I find it odd that the pace of closings has slowed down. The early 2021 list was pretty significant, but the latest lists have been quite small. The second last list had 2 FL Kmarts & 1 Sears Grand, and the latest list had only 1 Kmart in Costa Mesa.
Why the slow trickle of closings now? Why the teeth pulling to get some decent closing lists around here? Is he planning to keep most of the remaining 20 Kmarts (and however many Sears) open? And now I read about new Sears Hometowns opening which is very disappointing, because it looks like we are making backwards progress in my quest for ears and Kmarts to be totally gone.
I hope not, but it's somewhat concerning that the closings aren't coming fast and furiously, like before. They are coming in little drib-drabs now, and it's annoying because I want them all out of here ASAP.
He could easily pull the plug on all this Tomorrow, but he is dragging his feet and it's very frustrating.
With the remaining non-hometown stores are listed for sale/lease, I would not consider them as "go forward"
