How many more of these will we see with PSR, all the layoffs, and the subsequent disregard for proper inspections and the safety of workers and surrounding communities? The derailments seem to keep on getting bigger with larger trains being run due to PSR.

The point is there was hazmat on the train that derailed in the community.. We aren't writing a google review on contractors. Maybe you could show up instead and let us know if it is all clear.
Hazmat getting called in doesn’t say much, they’re a bunch of cry baby RMCC complainers. They outsource everything possible to contractors and just show up when there’s a photo op. CSX and BNSF managers put them to shame. Just another group of paper mill desk jockies.
I'm waiting for the next Straight UP Truth article on how these large derailments are actually a good thing and are making us a safer stronger railroad.
LOL.. Up will never take any blame for anything about anyone... Its the Railroad way... No worries Shareholders got a 10 percent raise.. So thats good right? LOL
we don't know right now what the cause of this particular incident is because it is still under investigation. and we may not ever know the true cause because we aren't the ones writing the report, and they're going to put what they want to put.
however there is no doubt that after the implementation of PSR, safety inspections have been a low priority. and these derailments continue to get bigger when they do derail because of the size of the trains.
I can only imagine what the total bill is going to be for both trains. Thank goodness they decided to implement PSR. All of the money they saved now goes to cleanup.
Inspections haven’t changed since PSR was introduced?! What company do you work for? Not for Union Pacific. Carman inspecting and bleeding off a 10000’ train in 20 mins when it used to take 1hr 30 mins. C’mon man!
Inspections were getting pencil whipped before psr just like they are now.
The derailment in Minnesota happened yesterday. The derailment in Iowa happened today.
According to the news, its in Iowa, a bridge collapsed underneath train. Hope bridge dept did inspection........
It’s happening more frequently d-mb dums..
As much as I hate PSR, you cannot blame the derailments on it. There have been derailments since the inception of railroading. Unless it’s proved the derailments are caused by car defects not found by inspection or not inspected at all.
Yep because we never had any before psr.
