I know there have been horrible experiences for some, but I am safe for now and feel mostly comfortable. Some advise me that despite feeling comfortable, I better get out of here as soon as possible. I’m in a little bit of a dilemma why would I leave a job where I don’t feel threatened for now?

Enbridge is hiring Landa and row jobs everywhere things are good here I'm so glad I'm part of the family.
Always keep your resume up to date and look outside for other positions, no matter how comfortable you feel. You are nothing but a number and can be let go at any time.
I think the most important question you should ask yourself is - 'are you fairly sure you will be working for this company until you can retire (or if you even want to work for Enbridge that long?' There are two schools of thought - (1) The grass is not always greener on the other side and I know a number of people who have left Enbridge only to come back within 3 to 5 years; (2) Trust your own gut, not someone else's opinion.

Well I'm just pleased as punch. I was there, semi-live, to actually see the worst piece of advice the internet has to offer. It edges out drinking bleach only because it's plausible somebody could act on your advice.
People leave and move around all the time. If you’re skilled and employable you can always find something you think may be better. The catch, do it before you’re tied into a bunch of stock holdings, and/or too close to that pension. Lots of people stuck cuz they have too much time in, not only at Enbridge but lots of places. Also, depending on compensation, (1% income), it can numb the pain when looking at the end game - retiring by 55 or earlier.
Because when your comfort turns to discomfort it will be too late to make the change. Best time to leave is when things are actually good . Not when sh-t hits the fan.
