Anyone here from the Troy Data Center? It was a ghost town there even before Covid. After TCS pulled out, only a very small handful of techs and managers remained trying to do all the work. Just trying to imagine what things are like there today.

The Troy Data Center is still up & running as of today. Has to be costly to keep that place open. What's Eddie thinking?
GS is retiring at the data center, congrats to him. Good luck trying to fill that position, I have a feeling you might have to bring in a contractor to fill that position.

The Data Center Mechanic would be responsible for the TransformCo Technology Data Center in Troy, Michigan. They would be responsible for installing, repairing, monitoring, and providing routine maintenance and emergency repairs to the cooling, ventilation and heating systems within the data center facility. The standard work schedule is Tuesday Thru Saturday, 7am - 3pm. The role is on call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Job Requirements
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
• Operates, maintains and repairs DX cooling systems, steam humidifiers, air handling units and related equipment.
• Becomes familiar with all systems relating to the operations of computer room mechanical infrastructure.
• Diagnoses and repairs problems with the electrical systems of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
• Provides onsite building coverage and responds to emergency and non-emergency issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
• Ability to read and follow blueprints
• Strong knowledge of mechanical practices and procedures
• Organizational, communication and computer skills

I was put on furlough April of 2020 and on Sept. 30 received an email that my position was eliminated. From what I’m hear only a handful of employees come in daily, that would include the building engineers, security and in the command center.

When our Sears store closed in February 2020 we packed up and sent all our computers, registers, sncs, and electronic items to Troy Michigan. I sometimes wondered what they did with them.
Is there a data center in Chicago Ridge?
They didn't move into Eddie's plan of converting closed Sears/Kmart stores into datacenters? He must have been hurt by having one of his ideas never come to fruition. Poor kid...
Last I heard there were two people running it. One remote from HE and one in Troy. Those poor bas**Ed’s are way over worked. Guess they pulled out of CH3 and CH4 too and moved devices back to Troy.
