Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

How long will the shortcomings of the hiring system be ignored?

We have so many open jobs not because we don't have applicants, we have applicants a plenty at our store, it's just that it takes so long to actually hire anyone that they receive offers from other employers before our hiring process gets to the point where we can make an offer. The new hiring system is the main reason that we have this new premium pay program was put into place, so many unfilled hours and jobs across the company that we have to offer 1.5x pay in an effort to get already overworked people a reason to pickup weekend shifts. How long are we going to continue to ignore that someone or several someones made a mistake and get this system replaced or fixed? Can't wait to see what it will look like going into the summer with business coming back and no one to work. Expect to see even more leaders leaving as no one wants to try to achieve the crazy high goals when you can't even hire team members.

Great observation! [OP @1nje+1aOhr6Ya ]

What all of you don’t understand is. They are doing it on purpose!!! It’s not a Glitch it’s them trying to save money and also get rid of the people who cost too much by working them to death. So they can say “ legally “ why people didn’t get paid or why everyone is overworked! They have a legal escape ! Oh it’s the website not working, yeah right ! You can hire a kid off the street who does computers coding and get that site up and running in a month. Wake up !!!
This is dirty deceitfulMacy’s

People recently hired are quitting because they aren't getting paid. Lawsuits and Labor Board visits are coming!

Managers in our store have to explain how many applicants they called and asked to check their email everyday during midday meeting. MBA then sends emails and opens HR cases to try and fix glitches, rinse and repeat daily until some other company else hires candidates we have been working on hiring for a month. I hope we didn't have to pay for this new system, they way it works our competitors should have paid for it.

If any corporate executives read this site...the hiring system is a disaster!! It is not user friendly and has too many steps. Our competition is able to hire people quicker and easier!

Yep, in store traffic is making a come back! Along with other retailers, the current in store model is not sustainable.
