Somewhere in Columbus, Oh there were a couple of stores that closed I think, smaller stores. Giant Eagle attempting to consolidate their stores, it seems like, in the Columbus area anyways.

I know they closed one at the end of 2019 and that was the one out in Willoughby. That’s the one that was behind my house and they always had me-h addicts and prostitutes hanging out at that one. They closed another one back in 2020, but I can’t recall where. I think that one closed sometime between the end of February/beginning of March. I wouldn’t be surprised if after this pandemic is over with, there might be more. I know for years, they were talking about closing that one out at City View Plaza because as you know, that plaza was built on a landfill that’s been releasing a lot of natural gas and at any time, that plaza can blow. Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and all the other stores up there BUT Giant Eagle got the he-l up out of there. It’s so bad that they had to install methane gas detectors up there that go off on a daily bases and they always have to evacuate the store for a couple of hours. Then some parts of the parking lot is also sinking too and in some spots, it has sunk over a foot now-you could literally see where the parking lot used to be at by looking at the exposed wall and bits of pavement stuck to the outside wall. I think Giant Eagle is trying to recoup that money moving in there before shuttering it. However, if it blows up before hand, they’ll really lose money from folks suing. That’s the only one I can think of that might be closing soon.
Specifically in Pennsylvania?
