Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Did Commscope buy Ruckus to get into the CBRS market?

After careful analysis, I think they did not care for Arris, it was just necessary to get Ruckus, who was working on CBRS.

I don't know. It seems like an awful lot of money to spend just to get into that market.

Charter bought up the frequencies. And does Charter buy Ruckus CBRS equipment?

It doesn't matter if that was Eddie's plan. Chuck is in charge now and ki---d the CBRS line. CommScope bought a $1B company and then dumped most of it on the curb on the way to the car (private jet).

5G LTE can handle 5 or 6 carriers aggregation... That's up to 5 or 6 (20MHz) channels.

I'm told that is >= 100MHz wide channel.

But Commscope only handles 40MHz , right?

Even Wifi can do better.

I'm not sure CBRS will take off?

Nobody buys a cellphone and asks if it supports CBRS.

That's like buying an 8 Track cassette and then looking on EBay for an 8 Track player.

Nobody is adopting CBRS, like it was originally hyped out to be?

If that was CommScope's plan they sure screwed up. Almost all of the original development team of the CBRS product line at Ruckus left. The team was also underfunded once the Arris acquisition was completed. So when CommScope got a hold of it, it was already in decline.

Unless it has changed recently, Charter was not buying Ruckus CBRS gear.
