Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Broadcom acquisition rumor

It's not the first time I have been told about the interest in Broadcom to acquire VMWare, apparently Broadcom looking forward to make a big acquisition and VMWare seems to be on of their main targets.

After the CA and Symantec debacle for their previously existing employees, this could make even a bigger hit than the lay-off waves experienced.

How much of truth could be in this rumor? If VMW is going to be acquired, would be other companies interested?

So this was already discussed a year ago. As mentioned above, out of the Dell frying pan into the kitty litter box.

software defined networking - check, security inside the network - check, spac for telecom related tech-check, Edge networking goodies - check. Cloud universal and other aaS offering...well, getting there.

Ok, I can see the benefit to Broadcom, so on to question two -
With the debt increase for VMware coming from the spin off, does broadcom have the cash on hand?

Question 3, with MD as a the lead shareholder, would he split off those 2 or 3 BUs (sbu, nsbu, euc) or let Broadcom have a chance to buy his majority stake? He has a 5 year agreement to protect his Dell Tech interests.
