Jobs? Layoffs? True.
But do foreign governments go and demand our companies information and intelluctual property, when a remote office operation is in a foreign country?
Who is to prevent it? The foreign government?
Doesn't Arris outsource it's routers to Schenzen?
Even for a sales person to be located in a country, they already demand company info, req a board be setup, bank account, etc... it’s a long drown out legal process that has to be completed and even more difficult and costly to shut it down. Easier to just stop operations and zero out the balance sheet.
Most are not going to demand or inquire to obtain IP. If they did they’d be hurting themselves since it would stop other companies from moving ops there , unless your China and you just reverse engineer it.. China is no longer the LCC it once was and more are looking at other SE Asia nations.
