Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Do you help your colleagues?

It is never a problem for me to help any of my colleagues. Also, from time to time I needed someone's help as well.
However, I have a colleague who literally takes advantage of this. I think he started asking for help even when he didn't need it at all and when he could do his job quite well on his own. It's become very annoying.

I help everyone. I don’t care what you need. If you have ended up on my line in all the years I’ve been here I have helped you. Doesn’t matter what Dept you are. Doesn’t matter that I lose a sale talking to you. It matters to me that I am helping you with a customer or system issue that is facing you at this very moment. I wish I could get everyone to stop the me, me , me..... it truly is only us. We don’t have anyone else.

In Menlo Parke the more you do for others the more it becomes your job. Yes people make all the difference here. OVm is a joke. No sense of anything butwhats best for them. Just imagine if you took as good a care of those who work hard than those who just say yes and don’t do anything.

I do. It can be frustrating when managers want things done in a certain amount of time, and you have to spend a quarter of that time helping your colleagues because they weren't given adequate guidance by said managers. Or when you're pulled away from your own mounting pile of work to help someone else with theirs. I don't mind to help in general, but it would be nice to get the help in return from time to time.
