I now realize that layoffs are far from over and I'm more worried than ever. Somebody told me that it's the older employees who are in most danger due to higher pay which has me in a state of panic. I would think they'd value our experience and knowledge a bit more than that, but I guess not.

Yes, when I look at the ages of employees being laid off...yes. Did I say yes? Yes. (The age factor was especially noticeable in the round of lay-offs they did 2-3 years ago, when they first started placing everyone in 'silos'.)
As one of the 750 (at least) who was let go in the layoffs in October of 2020, I'll say this: What Ascension has come to "value" in the past 20 years is the almighty dollar. The "Core Values" they like to preach about are nothing but BS. They've proven they are only interested in the bottom line.
Ascension hides behind the pope's robes to rip off the taxpayers and to plunder any Catholic health system they take over. Look at all of their other current ventures. They have made their silent partners and top dogs quite rich.

I think Ascension has made it clear they do not value anyone.
If you are not working on Ascension's shiny new thing then it is best to have your resume and LinkedIn up to date.
Anyone not in a digital studio is not safe. Hope that clears it up.
