What does it say about a company when its employees are constantly waiting for the next round of layoffs and hoping/praying that they’ll be picked? Every time layoffs happen I always hear how “lucky” those people impacted are. UHG has become such a sad state to work in.

So thankful I was laid off. Toxic, corrupt company on so many levels.
HOPING to get laid off. Feel sick and beat up all the time. It's like being on a firing range - from the client & mngmnt (metrics/numbers). Work force IS UNFAIR -- overworking, and then others not so much . A PUNCHING BAG W/A HEADSET.
I waited for and suffered for almost 3 years. I finally got the news and package. I wasn’t letting them push me out without my package. I found some support and hung in there. It was worth it. Took some time off and launched a new career.
I was laid off on the last Monday of Oct 2017. As a result, I started retirement 9 months early. I wasn't happy the moment I got the news. By the end of the week, I was thankful for my lucky break. I was spared having to show up at a job where I was just marking time. Hated my job, my VP, and the politics. I knew it was time to start my next chapter. I didn't leave UHC on my terms, but I left my 40 year career on my terms, since I knew I didn't have to work another day in my life. My health improved noticeably after I was laid off. Good things will happen once you leave UHC in the rear view mirror.
