Leaving to go to a competitor. Should I expect my access to be revoked immediately?

who does two weeks notices nowadays? people just ghost the employers...
two weeks is so boomer...
if you tell them (and you actually should), expect to be walked out. I have done this as a manager once or twice in my career... the Europeans call this "Gardening Leave". It's not bad. Better to be honest and leave with a mutual understanding and dignity. Don't get intimidated if your manager throws a fit or makes this personal. In the US and the Anglo-Saxon legal system, there is literally NOTHING the company can do to keep you from going where you're going. Plenty of lawsuits prove that precedent. Rajeev R anybody?
Well, for starters, they wouldn't know unless you told them. Which would be a bit silly. You don't owe anyone that info. In general though, any time you give notice you should be prepared for the possibility they don't let you work the two weeks. Most will, but depending on the position and circumstances, some won't.
