Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Staples To Be Woke Like Coke!

I joined Staples many years ago to be part of an organization that was focused on being first in class, a company that was large, but felt small, one whose management was focused on supporting their teams and were servant leaders. What do we have now? We have a dying organization with a CEO that is more focused on lecturing and indoctrinating the employees with his leftist, progressive rhetoric than pulling us out of our death spiral. By the way, where was all of this righteous indignation over social issues during his first two years? He wasn't "woke" until it became trendy to be so.
The irony of having a wealthy, white, male lecture the organization about white privilege from his mansion is apparently lost on him. I realize it is sometimes hard for an elitist to realize that those in the social classes below their own can actually think for themselves, but it is time for the emperor to put some clothes on, drop the false indignation, it isn't fooling anyone, and get back to the true responsibilities of his role - turning the business around.

Everything woke turns to sh-t.

Was going to go shop at Staples today, now I'm not.

Thanks again!

well every staples I go into looks like a morgue. When a pronoun list is a more important corporate concern than customer experience you are in trouble. When career advancement is based on checking the "black" box rather than individual merit you are in trouble.

Got an idea. Let's keep it simple. Anything that has to do with color, s-x, religion, government, sports and even the show 90 day fiancé.....just keep your comments and opinions to yourself in the work place. Let's try that for the next 21 working days. SD...how about you go first with the challenge? This is going to be so much fun!!! We may actually get more work done :) !!

I'm not sure how unity, togetherness, inclusivity, and diversity are leftist indoctrination. What would be the "diverse" thought against that agenda?

Stop hating on the CEO. He is doing the best he can. Stop complaining. Honestly! Work, and if you are shown the door, then fine. Move on. I respect his approach.

“Everybody love everybody.” - Jackie Moon

Sandy, the quote above is going to be more effective in creating unity than your 21 day challenge. Have the SLT do a movie day and watch Semi-pro.
I’m not sure why you are grasping onto every D and I initiative. Is it guilt for something you have done? What I do know is that you have created angst and divisiveness in the ranks with your obsession on this and your lack of attention to growing our company. No one needs your wokeness and being told how to live. HR has policies for people that don’t exhibit good behavior including racism. Let them deal with it.

I have been through all the emotions brought upon by our CEO`s post election focus on "select" social issues. Fear of losing my job if I speak up with a different viewpoint is the most constant emotion. It is depressing, hard to get motivated and stay focused at work. I am not alone, many others feel the same way but too afraid to speak up. Sadly, it seems this social experiment has taken hold in many companies.

Time to ban together and file a Class Action lawsuit against SD and HR for creating a hostile work environment, forced indoctrination and discrimination against diverse thought?

Perhaps you might direct this question to Peter Morrow. The real CEO.
