Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Documenting everything is (almost) useless?

We always hear roughly the same advice which is for employees to document everything at work because it can be very useful in certain situations, for many reasons. I’ve always made sure I have a good record of everything, but lately I’ve been hearing that at Teradata it’s often useless because they just ignore it all.

Your lawyer will appreciate the documentation.

absolutely it's useless. I have seen several people get put on PIP and they documented it better than anything they've ever done and it never helped. HR and your manager have already made up their minds when you're on their hit list. If you're not to the point of a PIP, documenting things only shows them how it really is which is NOT what they want to hear or admit.

And even if it DOES work out for you, what have you gained? Yes, you still have your job but you now have an even bigger group that hates you and will continually trash you and your career there.

Just move on. This trash management isn't worth it. They're so clueless that they even let me stick around! LOL
