Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Macy's CEO makes 552 times as much as his employees. The average CEO in America makes 320 times as much .

Mr G is rewarded very well for low morale and high turnover and a 45.9% part time workforce without health benefits. Then they still shake down employees for donations for their own causes. What a social disgrace.

This has been said before, but it's worth repeating; for Jeff and the BOD it is far cheaper to focus the organization on social injustice and promote weeks of understanding, give to causes like BLM and other social organizations than it would be to invest in hourly colleagues. It allows leaders to feel like they are fostering a culture that will attract and retain the diverse workforce that Macy's needs to turn around its foundering business, without actually paying a livable wage to those very same people.

A flat raise of just .40 cents for almost all hourly colleagues when the company skipped giving raises last year works out to just .20 cents an hour for the last two years (actually less since Macy's waited two years to give the increases). In addition, the company hires at the lowest possible rates depending on where stores are located.

The greatest colleague diversity is in the hourly population, if BLM and other social injustices were sincerely important to the company, it would emulate other national retailers like Target, Khols, Amazon, and Walmart and implement a minimum hour wage of at least $15 an hour.

Embracing social issues and continually pushing discussions about them throughout the company is a much cheaper option. Of course, now that the economy is opening back up, turn over is spiking and the company is having to offer premium pay just to get enough employees to work on certain days. In the long run the company will eventually have to match its competitors rates of pay, hopefully it will happen before the very workers it seeks to gaslight into staying with its embrace of social injustice issues all leave to work at other company's who show they care by actually paying people what they are worth in the market.

He just wants to look good social but Macy’s is a dark evil company ! Someone needs to call a news channel and do a investigation into how Macy’s treats their employees !
