Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How is Sears still a thing?

My store closed more than five years ago in one of the major closing waves. I honestly thought the entire company would be gone by the end of that or the following year. How is it still standing???? I remember having issues with products, delivery, staffing, and everything else under the sun even then. I'm shocked to return to this place and see that it's still active. I'm not sure if I should be happy for you guys or feel sorry for you. My goodness.

The Hometown owners, well proxy owners the real owners who did the buildouts and operated successful units til approximately 2016, are starving / struggling to pay bills and secretly seeding their own appliances onto the floor. Many will drop this next contract round.

It’s a numbers game for Eddie. He has his reasons. Legal, financial or otherwise. Sears will never come back. It’s just a when it will finally close for good. Only Eddie knows.
