So today some guy was in our store, unannounced, was going in restricted areas and taking pictures. When confronted and told he couldn’t be there, he said then he would just come back with the General Contractor to tear it all down. This isn’t the first time in the last few weeks people have been in here trying to go in restricted areas. What is going on?

Yes, liquidators do come in ahead of time, but no one wanders into areas on their own.........and no legit person when questioned would answer "we're coming back to tear the place down". Sounds like a unauthorized trespasser to me.
Liquidators absolutely do this kind of thing, and the decision to have them check out the property and do their due diligence is frequently made above the store manager level, so as not to rustle the ants. If someone above your pay grade allows entry to the store, it's obviously not trespassing. In fact, some of the videos on YouTube are done by liquidator contractors who have a hobby of sharing videos of closing stores. Who else would go around from location to location across the country? It's doesn't require a high school education to figure this stuff out.
Oh I Know you meant "true". But I was pointing out that you misspelled it. You also wrote "what I meant using HE principAL of subsequent". As opposed to "she" principle? What do you mean "he"? And it would be principle not princiPAL. Principal refers to the person who is a school leader, as opposed to principle. Why do I point out errors? Because it's fun, and I like making fun of them. Grammatical and spelling errors are a pet peeve of mine.
Full irony, I am making fun of myself too, because I should have written "some evidence" not "dome evidence" below. So please feel free to mock my error, below, because I deserve it. At least I admit my errors, and correct them. To the poster below, thanks for pointing it out. Now excuse me while I wipe that egg off. You got me. You Won this round. I'll Win the next one, hopefully. Touche.
"dome evidence", from the same poster asking about "teue". The patrols are out heavy today on the message boards. Link, proof, location, Grammer, exhausting.
It’s called a typo. Unlike most message boards, this one doesn’t allow you to edit your post. Why does everyone here think they’re the grammar police? It’s easy to tell if someone is a Nigerian prince. One person makes one typo and you’re all over him like white on rice. They word is “true”, but you already knew that. Even a third grader could understand what I meant using he principal of subsequent context. I’m sure someone with a PHD in grammar and journalism, such as yourself, won’t need to google it.
@1yxl+1aA4qErO what is teue?
@1glp+1aA4qErO either provide the location and dome evidence or shaddap. Ya I'm link guy. And? Stop Talking through your hat without proof, goofball.
I’m not links man. I was calling you out as troll because anyone can say someone came in to our store today. Without a location, there’s no merit to your story. You don’t have to disclose. No worries. Well find out if it’s teue “AFTER” the store is closed and torn down. Next week, next month, next year or never.
Maybe it is going to be torn down. Has anyone called corporate to see if the store has already been closed?
He was probably just looking for a place to sleep.
Seriously. No one asked for any credentials? Poor management.
Something is obviously wrong with a strange person wandering into a restricted area unannounced......it's called trespassing. Has happened almost everywhere I've worked. When confronted, anyone who is there legitimately would give more information than simply saying, "we're coming back to tear the place down" .......even more so if the place isn't even in liquidation yet. Absurd! IF the story is true, call the police and have the man arrested for trespassing. SIMPLE !!! Nothing worth starting another thread over.
For you mo--ns a restricted area is employees only. And yes he was asked and only said he would be back to tear it all down. I don’t have to say which location for you, troll. I’m sure you are most of the reply’s to this by what you said. Links man, troll.
Just putting it out here to see if it happened at other stores before they were announced. Any mental illness is abounding on your end links man.
Same thing happened in our Sears store. The guy that came into our store represented an outside contractor and he went all through the store taking notes and pictures. We closed six months later and the store was remodeled and repurposed as a Dave and Buster's.
You’ll just have to wait for your imaginary friend to come back with the imaginary General Contractor
Chris (the elevator dude) is filming for his new program- Restricted Areas of Kmart.
Link to video coming May 6, or April 6 or...
What is a restricted area in a Sears or Kmart? There is no stock anywhere. No money being held since there are no customers.
Sounds like he is going to return soon to begin demolition. Mystery solved.
Maybe they are demolishing the Sears to make way for a new Super Sears. It's like Super Kmart, but Sears!
When you asked why he was there, which I am sure you did if you are so curious that you posted about it in a layoff board, what did he say?
Yes. This post is meaningless unless you say which location you’re referring to, so we can investigate.
It means nothing. Mental illness abounds.....call the police. At thread about this? Really?
