Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How seriously do you take your job?

I have a colleague who is constantly talking about layoffs and is afraid that our store will be closed, but never does anything more than the bare minimum.
It’s clear to me that everyone here is very demoralized, but roughly anyone who cares about their job tries to give 150 percent of themselves, even though that may not be crucial at all when it comes to layoffs.

Here at our kmart all we do is busy work. No real work to speak of. Setting ad on Easter Sunday was so ridiculous. No one cares what's on sale. It's all priced so high that even sale price is laughable. Can't wait for the doors to close forever.

You’re complaining about associates doing the bare minimum? Apparently, you’ve never bought something from a gas station or convenience store

My job is to test Elevators so that Loss Prevention can know the exact time it takes for people to go from 1 floor to another. That way, our LP Commandos can position themselves with perfect timing. This is how we Transform TransformCo!

150% of what? Anytime I've been in a Sears store, there was nothing for the employees to do. The little bit of merchandise that was in the store hadn't been touched in days so nothing was ever out of place. No customers to ring up, no new merchandise to put out, no finger prints to even wipe off the display cases, etc. Look busy just to show one's marvelous work ethic?
