I was a shocked to read that Google will only allow it's employees to work from home 14 days per year, with approval. I was surprised by this, as I previously believed leadership would be more innovative.
To each their own, but I hope employees are able to speak up to have more flexibility when needed. Thank you!
Nobody at Google is required to be in an office right now. This entire thread is BS.

They got a wake up call after the massive covid outbreak in India offices. Everyone is working from home and hardly 1-2% vaccinated in many countries.
In USA, we have 30-40% vaccinated and other half is yet to be vaccinated. Why create a super covid virus in indoor offices? WFH a for another year and check how vaccinated people are protected from new variants. We need more data and then decide on getting back to office.
Many adults in 20s-40s are getting affected by the virus now outside USA.
Don’t rush and end up dying or spreading the virus.
Facebook, Twitter, and even Oracle allows its employees to work from anywhere, but not the Big G.
Oh yes, we do provide plenty of tools for customers to make sure their employees work from home.
Yikes! That definitely puts them on my "NOPE" list of potential employers. I'll stick to places where 14 days IN the office would seem like a lot :)
