I was laid off last year. And yes I know someone who works at NOV.

Me!!!!!

I know about all the GE /BH marketing, like the term Digital Solutions, but we run our operations on spreadsheets and text messages. Cyberplan, just a tool with a cool name. No one materials or purchasing leader understands it but we had to be trained in it but wasn’t used.

I know more than most my friend.

@cdcf I don’t think you know anyone who currently works at NOV.

Cool story though.

NOV is a bigger dumpster fire than Baker has ever been.

NOV is in a better position. BH can’t buy without totally selling off everything BH already owns. And NOV has less liabilities and GE gave BH a lot of empty roof tops during the merger. BH must maintain a constant purchase of very small businesses to stay a float . NOV just needs to hang on.

BH / GE hasn’t designed anything ground breaking for the past decade. BH/ GE purchases NPI from small mom and pop companies operating in the middle of the Sahara

Because when you have bad management, they make bad decisions. Haven't you learned this already.

Why would we buy NOV? They’re in worse shape then we are.

What about the 600 wells aberdeen drilling dept lost? What happened there? Someone lose their job? Close the department down? Lay everyone off? Is this why aberdeen finished?

Are you sure you didnt hear that BH are losing Business, rather than offloading a Business. There is more to the post below this one than meets the eye. Somebody or some divisonal LT has made a massive strategic c*** up here. They should have rolled with the punches at a regional level and not put a Global Account in serious harms way.

Okay folks, let's not put our heads in the sand and blame all the failures solely on GE's Leadership. Legacy Baker has just as many failures in Leadership and plenty of them have survived and still doing damage at all levels of leadership in the current organization.

Baker Hughes in name only - still managed by the rotten GE leadership! All they can do is acquire new businesses, ruin them and move to the next one!

H N doesn't want them. Just let them go belly up and go away. Than H N will just poach all the existing customers (what little there are)

The company with the H & N in its name will be the acquirer, not the other way around and all the you know what Kissers that have survived here in spite of their incompetence will be be finally shown the door.

" And is working on another energy acquisition."

Would this "acquisition" be a company whose name starts with an 'H', and ends with an 'n'?
