The same thing happened in 08. As soon as a recession hits they try to get rid of the
highest paid employees. Most people end up getting "whacked" eventually.
When my area manager got fired my regional manager even told me if someone hadn't got fired he wouldn't be in the position he's in.
Remember this is a private company. The billions of dollars gets funnelled to one greedy family so they can go on private yachts and jets.
Hertz will eventually get it's act together and provide some competition so that Enterprise can no longer created false shortages in order to rig prices.
It is a shame because it hasn't always been like this and doesn't have to be. They need to look at some good companies like UPS to see how to really treat it's employees and customers.
F'ing over customers as well as it's employees.
You have two choices, to be okay with being underpaid working long hours being both the customers and ERAC's human punching bag. If you do make decent money which some do then you are in danger of being moved so your payplan can be adjusted or eventually be whacked during the next recession which is what just happened.
They may have it good in the short-run but like all good businesses this is not sustainable in the long-run. I worked within Liberty Mutual's insurance office and they were dying to switch to Hertz. Same goes for State Farm. The problem is Hertz hasn't had it's act completely together.
I'd love to whack some of those gutless, buffons in corporate managment and I wasn't even fired in the recent layoffs. My time was up long before this.
I feel for you that gave your heart and soul for a company that doesn't have one.
