Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

From the Pembina rumor mill.......

According to someone in IT there are a few of them who are using software to snoop on staff using keyword searches to build cases for layoffs. I suspect they already have cases built up against some individuals but for others, watch what you are typing, searching, and saving on company resources.

I worked there as the latest CEO/God was being put in charge. This LMS creep was so full of himself it was hard to watch what he was doing to a really good company and it seems his legacy continue as I read through these observations. I watched as CNRL bent hime over forward so he could sign the Horizon deal. It was all about the deal with him and continues that way regardless of the benefit. Value Chain and many other buzz words followed. Now it seems the only recourse for him is to sell the company in pieces and chant 'share holder value' so he can get a final payout. Time for the BOD to recognise the empty rabbit ho-e MD has taken the company. Such a shame.

The only instance I can think of where they would sift through hours of camera footage to build a case against someone is if there was concern about theft or identifying a tailgater. Management and HR can (and do) request reports on the entry/exit times of staff from security card swipe points throughout floors and stairwells. I know for a fact that some Managers monitor the arrival and departure times of their staff on a weekly and even daily basis.

Hopefully people aren't shocked as many companies in town regularly do this (Cenovus had an entire IT team (working with HR) who were dedicated to comb through staff data after the merger with Husky. source: Cenovus Layoff page). I wouldn't be surprised if Pembina is accessing floor security cameras to identify patterns in certain peoples arrival/break/departure times and potentially cross referencing with time sheet entries. This is a company who in my opinion would nickle and dime their own workforce for washroom and coffee breaks if they could (yeah, I know what you're saying: at Pembina, what is a coffee break??!). ha
