Thread regarding Frontier Communications Corp. layoffs

When will this be done?

Is there ever going to be a point where things will go back to relatively normal? I'd really like to know because all of this stressing and worrying is doing nothing for my health - mental or physical. If nothing is going to change then I plan to start looking for a new job for my own good.

More anti union propaganda placed here by corporate stooges. Go pound salt, you sniveling, low life, butt kissing, ne-er do wells.

I’m the same way. I don’t know if I should start looking for a new job or not. I’ve been a tech for 20 years. I don’t really have any qualifications or an education. I don’t know what to do. I wish I would have been a contractor, the union was a dumb decision.

If you had 20 years you should have left with >$500,000 in a lump sum payment. Too bad.

It will be done when the union is gone. Ask yourself one question-why are you being loyal to a union that is doing nothing for you right now? You are about to lose your jobs, benefits, etc. on behalf of the unions lack of doing its one and only job. You have paid dues every pay cycle for this same union to represent you. Unless you are someone that would be utterly useless without union representation, in which you wouldnt get a job offer anywhere else anyways, the union has played you for a fool this entire time. Now you will be expected to go on strike while not getting paid while the entire union hall collects their paychecks and demands you go on your strike shifts-what have they been doing this entire time leading up to now? This isnt Frontier's fault that you are in this position, it is yours and your unions. Difficult lesson to learn on why labor unions are not always practical especially when it is not a skilled trade like a service representative in a call center.

Take a look at windstream, it took them about 18 months to emerge from bankruptcy and we are on the same trajectory. My best guess would be in April and no real fallout until late summer/early fall.

I’m going to start looking for a new job. The problem is that I’ve been a tech for the last 23 years. I have like no job skills. Do you think that will hurt my chances of getting a new job?
