Ford EV Charger halt

Make customers wait for Mach E and then they can’t charge at home. Priceless failure.

OIT — Ford Motor Co. has temporarily stopped selling its home electric vehicle chargers and is directing dealers to third-party sites such as Amazon for generic versions of a key accessory as sales of its Mustang Mach-E ramp up.

The automaker issued a stop sale for its $799 Ford-branded wall boxes on Feb. 24 after it discovered some weren't working properly, a spokesman told Automotive News. It's unclear how long the hold will last, although the spokesman said Ford was "working hard to alleviate the matter with all parties involved."

So glad we are addressing AFTER the purchase.

Electric??? Heck I want a big block V8, with thrush cherry boms and a holly 4 barrel carb. If you don’t know what this means you shouldn’t be in automotive.

That's why so many management wants to get back into the office. A lot more difficult to have affairs when you work from home than having excuse to "work late" or "business trips". Those crying to make everyone spend time in the office are the toxic Ford people. They can't survive or deliver unless they can play the toxic office games. Farley should take note. The list creates itself. If he were smart, he'd jot down every name of those begging to make people go into offices. These are your self identifying toxic employees to get rid of. These are the non producing, abusers taking credit for work they cannot do. Those that cannot deliver. The bad players driving your endless bad pulse scores since the beginning. You don't need a 6 figure income to see this. It's as plain as the nose on your face if you just pull your head out of the sand.

Who in Purchasing gets fired over making these foolish buying decisions. Should be a multi-level dismissal. Oh, then we would be accountable and don’t see that at the top.

EV's are for people brainwashed to believe that it's moral to drive around with a lot of toxic waste filled batteries when an efficient ng or gas engine has less environmental impact

Remember this gem from 2018. Hope no threat of thermal events with new issue. I certainly wouldn’t want one in my garage.

Ford is recalling just over 50,000 charging cables for its plug-in electric and hybrid vehicles out of concern that they could lead to a fire, the company announced today. The 120-volt cables being recalled — which allow the cars to be plugged into a standard home outlet — were sold with certain Ford Focus Electrics, Fusion Energis, and C-Max Energis from the following years and assembly plants:

2012-15 Ford Focus Electric vehicles built at Michigan Assembly Plant, Sept. 15th, 2011 through March 14th, 2015
2013-15 Ford Fusion Energi vehicles built at Hermosillo Assembly Plant, Sept. 4th, 2012 through March 5th, 2015
2013-15 Ford C-MAX Energi vehicles built at Michigan Assembly Plant, April 13th, 2012 through March 14th, 2015
Affected owners will be notified by mail, Ford says, and they’ll have to get a new 120-volt charge cord from a dealer. The new cords will include a “thermistor,” which enables them to stop charging if it detects overheating in a plug or outlet, free of charge. Ford will also send owners a reminder of the “requirements for adequate wall outlets

Back again in the news cycle for another mistake, recall, or failure. We can’t get out of our own way. This should provide some ammunition to our Twitter campaign against Tesla.
