Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

Do you have a good relationship with your coworkers?

When I started working here we were all about teamwork and helping each other. Then the spin-off happened and things changed drastically. Now it's every man (or woman) for himself and I constantly have to watch my back to make sure somebody doesn't trip me up intentionally for their own gain. Is this really the new normal throughout the company or am I just that unlucky?

To the original question: yes I have a good relationship. I have learned from my mentor a director in software to kiss while my hand sinks a knife deep in their back. Works every time

Finally!!! Some of the lifers (too long and no real output) are retiring and moving on. Now we can get people who actually give more than 20%.

Yeah you must be an idjit that ran away from REzI to HON and have cr-p friends that screwed you many times over yet you keep going back to them. I think in the US you say like dog going back to it’s vomit...
Waking up in the early morning and seeing those posts is fun while those poor HON work for next to nothing :)

It may be you, or you're surrounding yourself with the wrong people. Plenty of team who "have each others back" and work together really well. Like family.

Thats not new normal.... that has always been the case in Rezi, Austin and Melville. Nothing to do with Bangaluru or china ... You are correct about Melville. They punch each other but if they can screw other locations they will unite magically. Why do you think there is no real innovation there?
Even their single outdated fellow is obsolete and plays politics..... Normal any other location runs from them. Even people that left that place are infected and carry that backstabbing and "push down" others attitude.
SAD.

Maybe there is no documentation or training materials in English because no English speakers made any? I mean are you making that documentation in English? Are you making training materials? Or are you browsing message boards for a company you don't even work at? Did English speakers contribute anything or are they just trying to reap rewards?

If they had gone through the loads of extra work to do the documentation in English, the unappreciative only-English speaking people would probably just make fun of every flaw. I've seen plenty of examples of that on this site.

When my company announced layoffs, people started not wanting to share or work as a team especially the Chinese, Koreans, Asians. They even write all the documents in Chinese and have training in Chinese. This way their international colleagues can't get ahead of them. They keep shipping all the work to China, but claim that the product is made in Europe.

What site are you at and how long have you been here? Certain sites (cough Melville cough) have had a culture of being untrustworthy since the HON days. That culture has been steadily creeping out to other parts. If you are semi-recent, it could just be that people were nice because they were sizing up how to use you.
