Do others think this is a signal that layoffs will come soon, or could it mean something else? I hate when someone else’s posts are copied, but I’m particularly interested in this. I didn’t work here in 2015 so I don’t know what the situation was like.
They always cut their legs off. They always lay off the people who produce income for the company while those who are money sponges stay. Work is slow so what income comes from Houston? $0.00. If times are hard so what if we have to take jobs at a discount to keep people working. Halliburton would be doing fine as a regular company. Dump the corporation B.S. and watch the income increase.
After 14 years I was caught in the layoff of 2015.This is the kicker I was the only Mechanical Tech in the group you think they thought about that NOT came back to bite them real quick. You have people building your group's tools that don't even know what there looking at. It drove the engineering group nuts. Management at it's finest.
I did work here in 2015 and the poster is telling the truth. They do not want to pay you your accrued vacation when they lay you off those leaches that is halliburton
There is no job security at Halliburton. They manage it as a cyclical business.
Take a moment, right now to write down/print out all of your achievements, contributions, etc. you did in your job. If you are impacted by lay offs, there is little time to gather this important information for your resume. (Everyone should do this no matter where they work.) Prepare for the worst, hope for the best and keep looking for other opportunities. Good luck.
