Bust Up in Bukom - Will Management Bow to Union Pressure?

Bukom management has now finalised the list of names to be cut.

But Union is not happy about the list and wants it reviewed under the guise that they want to ensure the criteria used is fair and transparent.

So will this spineless management bow down to the threats and pressure and give in?

A background to the local scene:
The law is clear that the company has sole and undeniable rights to say who gets the boot. They may want to have a set of guides and criteria to give a sense of fairness and transparency. However, under the Law, there is nothing to prevent them from changing those guidelines or doing away with it at the company's disposal.
The Union, on the other hand, threatens to raise a ruckus in the public forum and media. They want to make the Company look bad for not justifying the reasons people get the boot.

Legally the Union has no legs to stand on the issue. If the management capitulates, you can know for sure these guys who run the place are pu–ycats and wimps, prone to give in to challenges.

Let's see the next episode of BustUp in Bukom!!!

Is this due to the downsizing of the plant? Can you give an example of where the union and management disagree. ie. Union may prefer to keep longer term employees (that may have higher pay) vs. Management recommending shorter term employees that have lower pay.
