Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Wrong focus?

I used to be proud to work for this company, but I’m afraid there is no salvation for it anymore.

VMWare is soon to be a dinosaur. The management (what’s left) doesn’t have a clue. They focus on SJW c-ap, the environment and any and everything except how to win in the marketplace.

Someone who wrote this (OP @5nnh+19t00nsQ) is too optimistic. It seems to me that this company has already become a dinosaur because the focus has shifted to secondary things.

Come on, April 15th! I wonder just how many employees are waiting to get their bonus and head for the door.

when hiring is based on race,

Untrue. Observational evidence shows that low-cost is far more important than race at this point.

Vmware is a sinking ship. When promotions and bonuses are distributed to friends and family, when hiring is based on race, when alienating other ethnicities is the daily practice, it is a sinking ship.

It will not recover. It is a shut down or to be acquired company.

You are not alone in thinking about the same. Post bonus and coming months when a lot of enslaved H1b folks will have EADs will be inflection points will be the death knell for talent loss at VMware. Unfortunate part is that no one in higher management cares or can do anything about it. There are only few kinds of people at VMware, enslaved h1bs, people who can’t clear interviews, people who are lazy bums looking for a retirement from VMware, senior folks in management who are resting and vesting or ignorant fools who don’t know their worth. These days my team is only able to hire below average employees from the market. The others don’t even want to come for an interview.
